Sitting by the lake shore under a silver birch the moomin family had pike for dinner.Moomin papa took the rowing boat out on lake Kyrösjärvi for an evening spin in the never setting sun. He came back with dinner - a 15lb pike.

Moomin mama gasped. Within minutes daughter moomin, clad in bikini and mosquito repellant, gutted, descaled and prepared the fish in to ten fat steaks. 
Moomin son smoked the fish over sawdust and alder.
Moomin son smoked the fish over sawdust and alder. Soon the moomin family and their special guest Jennie were sitting down to eat the product of their labour and luck. From lake to plate in a couple of hours.

Fantastic fish said Moomin Papa but where is Moomin Daughters next meal coming from? More northern waters?
Good evening Lara and Tom, I got on your blog for the first time. I am just back from North Wales where I spend a week doing a field course for uni. Surely not as exciting as the Finland lakes but a good change from London. I hope everything is running smoothly and that you have nice weather. Not warm here!
